Come and discover this ancestral Japanese art of gold repair.

Passionate about ceramics, Isabelle became interested in this process full of meaning and beauty, behind which lies a symbolism of healing and resilience. Flaws and wounds are not hidden, but rather highlighted and even sublimated.

Course of the workshop (2h30) :

• Presentation of this art form, followed by a glue-based technique that will enable you to quickly bring your object back to life. You can choose from stoneware, porcelain or earthenware. If you didn't bring your own, don't worry, Isabelle can provide you with one.
• Now it's your turn! Concentrate, glue the pieces back together and place the gold powder on the still-fresh glue, supervised by Isabelle, who will guide you through every stage of the reconstruction.
• Sometimes there are small gaps to be filled, either with fired clay powder, or if the gap to be filled is larger, with a small patch.
• You'll need to wait several minutes between gluing pieces to ensure they hold together. Then it's time for a cup of tea or coffee!
• At the end of the workshop, you can leave with your repaired work, even more beautiful and solid than before. You'll need to wrap it well to take it home, and leave it to dry for another 24 hours before you can handle it again.

During the session, you'll treat yourself to a moment of meditation and sharing... the wabi-sabi spirit invites you to appreciate simple, imperfect things.
