Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing ceramics with gold joints. Come learn about this activity centered on ceramics, the repair of broken pieces, and the process of restoring and enhancing an object that has been broken. The goal of this Japanese art form is to transform a broken ceramic piece into something even more beautiful.

Workshop Schedule (2.5 hours):

• Bring a broken object (no more than 4 pieces) or the workshop will provide one for you.
• History of Kintsugi.
• Gluing the pieces together.
• Filling in gaps and/or chips.
• Applying Urushi plant-based lacquer and mica powder: you’ll have a choice of gold, silver, or copper.
• Take your repaired piece home with you!
