Sgraffito workshop: Decorate your own porcelain bowl in Paris

Discover the ancient sgraffito decorating technique, which involves scratching a design into the raw clay before firing the piece. You’ll be welcomed into a warm and friendly atmosphere, in a small group, and guided step by step, whether you’re a complete beginner or already have some experience.

Workshop schedule (1 hour 45 minutes):

• In this class, Camille will guide you in removing a layer of color to reveal the white porcelain, allowing you to play with contrasts and design elements to create your own 13-cm-diameter cup (you will engrave on pre-prepared, unglazed cups).
• You’ll start by choosing the colored background for your bowl from the available shades.
• You’ll apply your accent color if you’d like to add a second shade.
• You will design your pattern and then apply it to the bowl.
• Finally, you will spend the rest of the class engraving your design onto the bowl.
• The porcelain bowls will be kept by the artist while they are fired twice. You can pick them up within three weeks.
