Join Pierre for a blacksmithing workshop where you’ll create your own custom axe! Discover an age-old craft and forge your own steel axe, choosing its shape and finish to create a one-of-a-kind piece tailored to your preferences.
Workshop itinerary:
- Designing your axe: Learn the different stages of production and decide on the shape and style of your creation.
- Preparing the steel: Learn how to punch holes in and work with mild steel to prepare the body of your axe.
- Introduction to Forging: Gradually shape the body of the axe and its cutting edge using traditional forging techniques.
- Assembling the cutting edge: Cut a slot in the axe head to insert a harder steel insert, then learn the technique of forge welding.
- Finishing and customization: Refine the geometry and lines of your axe to give it its final look.
You’ll leave with your own forged and personalized axe, the result of your hard work and creativity. An immersive workshop to discover blacksmithing techniques, take on a craftsmanship challenge, and bring a one-of-a-kind piece to life with your own hands!
