Introductory pottery day in Saint-Denis (93)

Activity description :

Henri welcomes you to his workshop for a day's introduction to ceramic throwing. You'll love this fun and soothing activity. You're sure to enjoy this ceramics workshop with friends, as a couple or as a mother/daughter get-together, for example!

Course of the workshop (9h):

• Henri will introduce you to his background, his workshop and the specifics of working with clay.
• He'll work with you to establish the day's schedule, based on your expectations and the different stages in the creation of a turned piece, and the constraints involved.
• You'll learn the basics of centering the clay, piercing it and assembling it to make your own pieces.
• You'll start by making a small bowl or cup, then move on to larger pieces.
• Henri will guide you step by step as you progress, and will take care to perfect your creation if you wish.
• By the end of the workshop, you'll have made 5 to 6 pieces (bowls, cups, small vases, goblets, etc.) according to your abilities.
• Henri will finalize your creations, which will be biscuit-fired only (first firing only). At the end of the session, if you wish, you can opt for enameling (second firing) for a small additional fee per piece.
