Leather workshop for a belt in Courbevoie (92)

I wasn't convinced by this workshop, mainly because of the significant differences between the advertisement and the actual experience. The ad indicates a workshop taking place in Merry's workshop, right in the heart of the Marais. In reality, the workshop didn't take place in a leather goods workshop, but in a room in a brasserie, as Merry hasn't had a workshop since the beginning of December. The setting is therefore not what it seems. As for personalization, the ad promises the possibility of creating a belt "to your taste from A to Z" with a choice of leathers. In reality, the choice was very limited: only two leathers were offered (smooth black and smooth chocolate). I would have appreciated having access to less basic leathers to create a more original belt; in the end, I ended up making a smooth black belt, with no real possibility of standing out from the crowd. A large part of the time was spent planing and polishing the lengths of the belt, repetitive and not very fun steps, which took precedence over the creative aspect. On a positive note, I was alone at this workshop, although it is designed to accommodate up to eight people. The workshop lasted 2 hours instead of the 3 hours advertised. It's also worth noting that Merry is a pleasant teacher, which is great. To sum up, the workshop may be suitable for a very basic introduction, but the advert seems misleading as to the location, duration and level of personalization on offer.

Excellent workshop for beginners

Great experience and a pleasant moment shared with our host. I discovered leatherwork through the creation of a beautiful belt in genuine leather (and tanned with plant essences only).

A very pleasant moment with the very friendly Merry, who takes the time to explain everything. The materials are of very high quality! We're delighted with our project, which we'll keep for a very long time! A must do!
