One-day introduction to lathe & modeling in Paris 8th district

Immerse yourself in the world of ceramics for a full day with a workshop in two 3-hour sessions. Discover throwing and modeling, two complementary techniques, and leave with several unique creations made with your own hands!

Workshop schedule (7h):

Morning:

• Visit of the workshop and discovery of the ceramic process
• Introduction to the potter's wheel: centering, opening, lifting the clay...
• Production of pieces on the wheel (cups, bowls, beakers...) guided step by step.

Lunch break:

• Take advantage of nearby good eateries or enjoy a picnic in the shared garden

Afternoon:

• Discovery of modeling and variations around the bowl
• Working by hand: shaping, refining, adding details (feet, handles, decorations...)
• Coloring with engobes, inspired by Japanese and Italian techniques.

At the end of the day, you'll have created several pieces (plates, bowls, cups, vases...) using different techniques and finishes. The team will then take care of the firing and glazing according to your choices, so that your creations are unique.

You can collect them a few weeks later, ready for everyday use.
