Raku ceramic workshop in Peymeinade (06)

Christine is pleased to welcome you to her studio for an introductory class on the raku technique in Peymeinade (06). This workshop will take place in two parts: one session for shaping the pieces (3 hours) and one session for firing (4 hours).

Workshop Schedule:

• You’ll have the opportunity to create two pieces
• You’ll begin with a brief theoretical overview to understand the specifics of raku and the Japanese firing technique
• You’ll begin shaping two pieces with simple forms and learn two methods (3 hours):
  • slab building
  • stamping
• During a second session (4 hours) scheduled in advance with Christine, you’ll:
  • glazing the pieces you’ve made
  • firing
• This final session will include a light snack shared among all participants

The goal of these workshops is to learn an ancient artisanal technique and to take home your own personalized creations.
