Activity description :

Come and learn about Raku with Violaine, a ceramist from the Lyon region! What's Raku? It's a low-temperature firing process straight out of Japan, originally used to make tea ceremony bowls. The glazed pieces are subjected to a high degree of thermal shock to reveal attractive cracks.

Course of the workshop (2h) :

  • Violaine will explain the creative process and history of Raku.
  • She will have prepared 2 bowls for you.
  • Rapid firing of ceramics and creation of a thermal shock using water or sawdust.
  • Abrasivecleaning to reveal cracks.
  • Leave with your 2 Raku-fired pieces!

A great ceramic workshop for Raku enthusiasts to discover the process of creating these pieces.
