Activity description :

Come and learn how to make your own knife from A to Z with the advice of our expert Arnaud, who is passionate about his craft and will accompany you throughout the day as you make your own brut de forge knife(100% steel, 20 to 22cm x 3cm)!
Workshop schedule (8:30am):
- Arrive at the workshop at 9 a.m. with a presentation of the premises and a coffee tasting.
- Arnaud will remind you of safety rules.
- Presentation of equipment (goggles, gloves and apron).
- We'll light the fire and practice the right strokes.
- You'll design your own knife, then it's off to the forge!
- Lunch break: bring your own lunch.
- Grinding the blade of your knife.
- Heat treatment (normalizing, quenching and tempering).
- Refining, polishing and sharpening.
- End of the day around 6:30pm, and debriefing over a beer or soft drink as you wish!

Magnificent experience, warm and friendly welcome by Arnaud who is passionate about his art, who listens and gives very good advice. At L'Ombre & La Flamme forge, time goes by "too fast". I really recommend it if you want to live a real blacksmithing experience. Stephane

Incredible day spent with Arnaud. He's a great teacher, friendly and takes the time to explain everything. You can tell he loves his job and sharing it. Always there when you have the slightest question or doubt, it was really a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend that you give it a try yourself!

Arnaud is passionate about his craft, an expert in forging and yet very humble. He also has the ability to adapt to his trainees to help us learn the right gestures and, as a result, create a beautiful knife. What's more, he's a very friendly man, and if we hadn't had to finish the knife, we'd probably still be chatting over dinner (bring something to share, Arnaud's got the knife to match!). Thank you Arnaud for a wonderful day of sharing. I've had a lot of fun with the knife, and when it comes to slicing sausages, it's a marvel!

Great day out with Arnaud! We were able to make our own forging knife, right down to finishing the blade. He's a great teacher, and with his help, it's almost easy to achieve the desired result! A great memory that will last a lifetime.
