Treat yourself to a creative getaway in the peaceful setting of a historic 17th-century mansion, nestled in lush greenery just a stone’s throw from Lille. During this workshop, you’ll craft a set of two yunomi—the famous Japanese cups traditionally used for tea, but also perfect for coffee or matcha—with your own hands.

Workshop itinerary:

• Welcome to the workshop and a tour of the venue in a friendly atmosphere.
• Participants will introduce themselves during a brief icebreaker.
• Introduction to the basics of ceramics: the different types of clay, shaping techniques, and firing stages.
• Learning the essential techniques and shaping your two yunomis step by step.
• Choose your glaze from a variety of colors and finishes to personalize your creations.
• Clean up the tools and wrap up the workshop with a chance to chat.

Once your creations are shaped, they will be glazed and fired by the ceramist to give them a professional finish. A few weeks later, you’ll receive your set of two yunomi cups, ready for everyday use. These are one-of-a-kind pieces, shaped by your own hands, that you’ll have the pleasure of keeping for many years to come or giving to a loved one.
