Discover a lava tunnel formed naturally by an ancient lava flow from the Piton des Neiges. A guide will explain everything you need to know throughout the visit. A caving excursion you won't soon forget!

Enjoy an absolutely unique activity just 10 minutes from Saint Gilles: caving in lava tunnels. During this unusual experience, you'll discover the subterranean world of volcanism. You'll be immersed in the history of Réunion Island's first volcano, and will discover some unlikely calcite and magnesite concretions.
Your guide: you'll be accompanied by a professional guide with a caving diploma and Professional Civil Liability insurance from the Syndicat des Professionnels de la Spéléo et du Canyon (SNPSC).
After an equipment session, you'll take a short 5-minute approach walk, then progress via corda to the tunnel entrance at the edge of the Bassin Bleu. After 15 meters on all fours, you'll continue through the generously dimensioned galleries. Enjoy a short break before returning to the cave entrance and finishing with a 30-meter zip-line.
As you make your way through the galleries, your guide will talk to you about volcanism, the birth of the island, the formation of lava tunnels and much more. A timeless journey, disconnected from the world above...
