Join Damien, a passionate artist, in his studio for an introduction to clay modeling, a unique sensory and creative experience.Modeling is one of the most direct ways of accessing sculpture: contact with clay, the discovery of volumes and the freedom of gesture make it a practice that is both meditative and exhilarating.

Workshop schedule (3h)

• Discovery of materials and tools: presentation of clay, modeling techniques and the tools used to shape, hollow and smooth.
• Creating volume: you'll learn how to build a simple shape from a block of clay, balance proportions and understand the structure of volume.
• Details and expression: guided by Damien, you will refine your sculpture by inscribing details and textures, according to a suggested model or your own project.
• Finishing and hollowing: you'll discover how to empty your piece in preparation for firing, and how to patina or smooth the surface.

You'll walk away with your own molded creation, imprinted with your own gesture and imagination.
