Discover and experience a different way of thinking about food and daily life, inspired by Japanese traditions passed down through generations.
What if this experience inspired you to change just one small thing in your daily life?
Workshop itinerary (1.5 hours):
- Introduction to Japanese cuisine and its way of life: a chance to discover some principles deeply rooted in Japanese food culture:
- “Live in harmony with nature rather than trying to control it”
- “Waste nothing”
- “Fully savor the seasons”
- Discover shichimi and furikake: their history, traditional uses, and the many ways to incorporate them into Japanese cuisine.
- Discover the ingredients: carefully selectedingredients —some imported directly from Japan—and the various ways to bring out their flavors.
- Create your own blend: craft your own furikake, shichimi, or original seasoning by choosing ingredients to suit your tastes.
- Tasting & Take-Home Creation: To help you discover the flavors of the season, you’ll be offered a tasting prepared with seasonal ingredients. You’ll be able to savor these dishes with the seasoning you’ve created, while discovering another way to celebrate the seasons through Japanese cuisine.
You’ll also take home your own blend to enjoy at home or give as a gift to someone special.
No prior knowledge of Japanese cuisine is necessary—just bring your curiosity!

Excellent experience with this workshop. Mariko teaches us how to cook Japanese condiments while traveling through Japanese culture. It was very soothing. Something to look forward to.

The furikake workshop was a great experience! I offered it to my boyfriend for his birthday, he loved it and the organizer even took care of preparing a little surprise dessert and a greeting card. Very touching! We want to make lots of different furikake variations at home now.

Mariko shares her know-how with us, showing us the balance to be respected and the freedom to choose ingredients according to category. She's very good at explaining, and then we taste. And then we can make it at home to our own taste, always looking for the right balance. It's a great idea for a workshop.
