Taking the time to create something with your own hands during a true craft experience: that’s the whole spirit of this workshop. Marion, a leather artisan since 2011, will guide you as you craft and personalize your bag— an elegant and timeless piece. High-quality leathers, personalized instruction (max 3 participants), in a genuine leather workshop just 30 minutes from Angers.
Workshop itinerary (4–5 hours):
- Explore the workshop, the fine materials, and the traditional tools
- Customize your bag to create a piece that reflects your style: leather, threads, straps, and accessories
- Learn how to read your bag’s pattern
- Punch holes for setting the rivets
- Cut the leather by hand and with aleather punch
- Get started with hand sewing using the saddle stitch, a seam ripper, and a rivet setter
- Assemble your bag, and attach the rivets and accessories using the rivet setter
- Pay close attention to the finishing touches to complete your beautiful piece of leatherwork
- Take home your personalized bag, proud to have made it entirely by hand.
- A short gourmet break will be provided during the workshop
A workshop open to everyone to discover the techniques of artisanal leatherworking and create a personalized bag using different leathers and finishes.
