In this workshop, you’ll discover Nerikomi, a Japanese technique that involves creating patterns directly in the earthenware by blending different colored clays. Unlike painted designs, the patterns are integrated into the material and appear with every cut, making each creation completely unique.

Workshop Schedule (2.5 hours):

After a demonstration of the different steps, you’ll create your own designs by experimenting with colors and shapes. Squares, lines, waves, spirals, or graphic patterns… let your creativity run wild before transforming your ceramic slab into a mug, bowl, plate, or trinket dish.
Throughout the workshop, Monika will guide you with personalized advice to help you discover this technique—which is as meticulous as it is fun—in a friendly and creative atmosphere.
After the workshop, your pieces will remain at the studio to dry, undergo two firings, and be glazed with a clear glaze. You can come pick them up about 4 to 6 weeks later, ready to use or give as gifts.
Drinks and pastries will be served throughout the workshop to enhance this moment of creativity and camaraderie.
