Want to find out more about Victor Hugo? Discover his house on the prestigious Place des Vosges, in the heart of the Marais district. This home invites you into the intimacy of the famous French writer. He lived on the second floor of this private mansion from 1832 to 1848, where he wrote some of his major works, including much of Les Misérables .

Tour advantages :

  • Follow the three major stages of his life during the tour: before, during and after his exile in Guernsey, through the presentation of his furniture, various souvenirs and his astonishing interior decorations.
  • The second floor is reserved for temporary exhibitions , featuring his drawings and an iconography of his literary work.
  • With themed tours (for all ages), little ones can have fun discovering who Victor Hugo's grandfather was, and what mistakes his grandchildren made.while teenagers are invited to learn about photography or get to know the characters in "Notre Dame de Paris"...
