Layla, better known by her nickname"Lilou", welcomes you to a lifestyle hotel in Metz for a discovery of jesmonite, a new composite material combining plaster stone and water-based acrylic resin. Join her as she teaches you the art of creating objects in Jesmonite.

Course of the workshop (1h30 or 2h):

Selection of object shape
Dosing, mixing and selection of pigments + effect
Creative casting in a mold
Drying and gourmet tasting. Enjoy a drink and a sweet treat during your workshop.
Demolding and sanding for a beautiful finish
Application of varnish to sublimate your creation

The final piece is pretty, but the choice is very limited. We had the choice between a soap or shell mold, 5 colors of glitter and 5 pigments to share between 14 of us. It doesn't take more than 10 minutes to create the piece (and that's only if you spend a lot of time thinking about the color), then we leave it to dry for an hour, during which time we hope to have some nice neighbors to chat with. As for the sweet break, it's a hot drink, fruit juice by the glass and a piece of cake. Don't expect to be able to choose your own pastry. The location was well chosen, right in the center of Metz and very pretty. The activity is fun, but we'd have hoped for a little personalization on the piece. When you know that 20€ kits are available in stores, you wonder if it's really necessary to take a workshop. The creation is very simple, since it's a simple mixture of liquid and powder, then pigments, which are poured into the mold.
