Very disappointed for the price, clearly not worth it. No interaction with students. A confusing 40-minute monologue. Explanations sometimes incomprehensible. There are much better burn shops and much cheaper. I wouldn't recommend it.

We enjoyed this time, learning a lot about coffee. Gloria, who is passionate about and in love with coffee, spent about an hour explaining its history before inviting us to discover its taste. There wasn't much in the way of tasting (4 very light types of coffee, including 3 at the bottom of the cup). On the other hand, the combination of coffee and cheese was a wonderful discovery in the mouth. On the other hand, I regret the organization: there were far too many of us (22 people in a very small room). There might have been a computer problem that combined 2 workshops into one. After forgetting us in another room, we were able to join the workshop 10 minutes late. I had to stand for 1 hour before they managed to seat me with my husband. It's a shame, as it must have affected the group's atmosphere.

The host is clearly a very high quality expert, I felt really lucky to be able to learn from her. I also super appreciated the approach she took to describing the rise of coffee, from a historical perspective, talking about empries and the role of colonialism and slavery, and its importation to the US. As a former barista, I've done other trainings and tastings, and here I really learned new things, plus from someone not only from coffee-producing countries but a true pioneer in the field of caffeology. My only feedback concerns interactivity and timing: we didn't even have a round table, the animation had started before I arrived - and I arrived at 9.55am - and went on for over 45 minutes - I left at 12.45pm. We really should either keep to the timing indicated, or indicate a 3-hour timing. Also, I understand the idea of starting with the speech - I knew we weren't going to drink coffee right away, and I'd taken some home - but I think that to keep the participants' attention on the very, very rich first part, it's a good idea either to indicate this, or to give them a little coffee at the beginning, or to intersperse the story with the tasting. Many thanks in any case!
