Activity description :

Learn how to make coffee the right way! This 2-hour workshop is led by a Master Barista, winner of the World Barista Championship and Master Roaster for almost 20 years. Enjoy a unique experience in the heart of Paris.

What is Slow Coffee? It's a "gentle" extraction method that brings out the full subtlety and flavor of coffee. Whether using a piston, dripper (chemex), vacuum or filter coffeemaker, these methods are back in vogue, and for good reason: they bring out and sublimate the coffee's aromas.

Course of the workshop (2h):

  • After reviewing the different terroirs and roasting methods, you'll be introduced to aromatic ranges and sensory evaluation of coffees.
  • The team will then demonstrate the 3 gentle extraction techniques:
    • The V60 is a Japanese Dripper coffee maker with its manual pouring method.
    • The Chemex, designed in 1941 by chemist and inventor Dr Peter Schlumbohm, is a practical and efficient dripper that preserves the aromatic complexity of coffees.
    • The Syphon, with its vacuum extraction process, produces a highly fragrant and refined coffee.
  • After these demonstrations, it's up to you to put the method of your choice into practice.

This workshop is perfect if you're a coffee lover! You'll have the opportunity to learn more about the processes that transform these tiny beans into the beverage we love so much!
