Discover the authentic Belgian chocolate workshop!
At this workshop, you’ll uncover the true secrets of Belgian chocolate-making alongside a certified artisan chocolatier, officially recognized by the Belgian federal government. We proudly display the “Certified Belgian Artisanal Chocolate” logo on all our creations; it’s a guarantee of authenticity and craftsmanship.
What’s on the agenda:
- You ’ll truly learn the art of chocolate-making, guided step by step by a true artisan.
- During the workshop, you’ll create your own chocolate delights:
- artisanal truffles
- traditional chocolate mendiants
- a personalized chocolate bar
- All of these are made from exceptional cocoa sourced from our organic plantations in Grand’Anse, Haiti. Once known as the “Pearl of the Antilles,” Haiti was once a major exporter of coffee, vanilla, cacao, sugarcane, and essential oils. Despite decades of hardship, our cooperative partners are driving positive change through high-quality cacao and agricultural diversification.
- Smallholder farmers in Grand’Anse grow cacao according to organic farming principles and deliver it to our fermentation center, where it undergoes a rigorous fermentation and drying process. The result is a flavorful cacao that you’ll use during your workshop. To reward this exceptional quality, our farmers receive a premium: 33.9% of the price of your workshop goes directly to them.
- This workshop will allow you to learn everything about chocolate making “from bean to bar” and the journey from plantation to tasting. You’ll have the chance to taste cacao from different origins around the world, discover the unique flavor of cacao pulp (cocoa pod juice), and sample our pure cacao liqueur (100% cacao paste, with no alcohol or sugar).
- Hot chocolate (in winter) or a chocolate granita (in summer) will be served during the activity.
- At the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to take home everything you’ve created (truffles, mendiants, personalized chocolate bar) to share and enjoy at home!
Much more than just a chocolate workshop, this is a journey of discovery into ethical, sustainable, and traceable chocolate—from bean to bar. Guided by one of Brussels’ few certified artisan chocolatiers, you’ll enjoy an inspiring and hands-on experience that brings you into direct contact with farmers, cocoa, and the craft itself.
