Come meet our master chocolatier and make your own chocolates by hand!
Let’s share our passion and discover together everything there is to know about Belgian chocolate, from our plantations to our shop in Brussels!
We are neither a so-called “chocolate museum” nor a tourist attraction that only sells fake “artisanal” Belgian chocolates. We’re a genuine chocolatier, certified by the Belgian authorities: here, you’ll truly learn how to make your own chocolates alongside a real artisan.
What’s on the agenda:
- During the workshop, you’ll handcraft truffles, mendiants, and a personalized chocolate bar using carefully selected cocoa from our organic plantations in Grand-Anse, Haiti.
- Once known as the “Pearl of the Antilles,” Haiti was a major exporter of coffee, vanilla, cocoa, sugarcane, and essential oils. The 1994 trade embargo, war, and insecurity have weakened the agricultural sector. Our cooperative partners are driving change through their commitment to high-quality cocoa and agricultural diversification.
- Smallholder farmers in Grand Anse grow our cacao usingorganic farming principles and deliver their wet cacao paste to the fermentation center, where a rigorous fermentation and drying process takes place, resulting in flavorful cacao that you’ll be able to use during the workshop. Our farmers receive a bonus based on the quality of their harvest. 33.9% of the price you pay for this experience goes toward paying these bonuses to our farmers.
- It’s also a delightful time to spend with our chocolatiers. They’ll teach you all sorts of things about cacao. You’ll get to taste a cacao bean (very bitter!) as well as cacao liquor (the paste we use to make chocolate).
- At the end of the workshop, you can take home the mendiants, truffles, and the personalized chocolate bar that you made yourself.
- The meeting point is our reservation desk located at 5 Place de la Justice.
- From the meeting point, once your reservation has been verified, our team will accompany you on foot to the workshop.
- Please be sure to arrive at the meeting point at least 20 minutes before the activity starts.
- The experience takes place at one of our two locations, depending on the day, time, and how busy our workshops are. Our two locations are very close to each other (a 5-minute walk: at 7/11 Rue Lebeau or 6 Rue de Namur).
The VIP package includes:
- Priority access to the chocolate workshop.
- A welcome glass of Taittinger champagne.
- Enjoy a hot chocolate (in winter) or lemonade (in summer) during the workshop.
- Put on a beautiful black apron embroidered with our logo.
Discover the wonders of Belgian chocolate and learn how to make exquisite chocolates at one of Brussels’ few artisan chocolatiers!
