Les Inventeurs welcome you to their workshop in the 18th arrondissement of Paris for a woodworking workshop on the use of the wood lathe. During this 2h30 workshop, you'll discover how to use this machine, which can be used to shape objects with pointed, hollow or cylindrical forms, and you'll be able to make a beautiful candlestick out of noble wood.

Workshop schedule (2h30) :

• Tool presentation: the wood lathe itself, hollowing and profiling gouges, sanding and finishing.
• Getting to grips with the lathe: you'll carry out your first turning tests on soft wood such as fir or pine, which you'll have set up on the lathe beforehand.
• Initiation to the turning gesture: learn how to shape your candlestick, removing material and observing your piece take shape as it passes through the lathe and the gouges used.
• Finishing: move on to finishing work directly on the lathe to smooth and refine your shape. Then apply wax to sublimate your creation.
