Knife forging workshop in Vielverge (21)

Activity description :

Come and make your own knife with Victorien, an artisan cutler, who will take you on a one-day metal workshop to introduce you to his craft. You'll have a choice of 3 workshops, ranging from 4 to 8 hours, to create a knife that's just right for you!

Workshop schedule (4 to 8 hours) :

• Definition of the knife's shape from a free drawing.
• Advice and choice of style.
• Forging of the stainless steelblade.
• Trimming and finishing with the backstand, followed by tempering.
• Lunch break.
• Afternoon: creation of your knife handle in resin.
• Cutting and assembly of plates.
• Final finishing touches.
• Leave with your very own knife!

Several workshops are available:

• Forging of a folding knife (4h): assembly, adjustment, creation of the handle of a folding knife with a mechanical notched system. Choice of wood for the handle and stainless steel blade.
• Forging of a kitchen knife (8h) : creation of an office-type kitchen knife from a free design, stainless steel blade, resin handle.
• Forging of a rough knife (8h ): from a free design.
